Stopping Firefox’s restore session dialog
I’m sure that there are Firefox users out there who want to restore their previous session; I never do, and so deactivating that dialog is a big timesaver. If you search, you’ll find a few writeups on how to adjust the configuration, but I want to document the minimum steps to suppress the restore session dialog.
- Enter
about:configinto the URL field. - Enter
sessionstoreinto the displayed filter field and press Enter. - Double-click the value cell of the
browser.sessionstore.enabledrow, so that the value field readsFalse. - Restart Firefox. One click saved.

Firefox (at least in FF3) has this as a preference:
the main pref tab: “When Firefox starts”
Just change to ‘blank’ instead of ‘last session’
(maybe that’s new in FF3 though?)
